Andhra Pradesh Govt. Invests Rs. 16,000 Cr. for 4 lakh houses in State
The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to build about 4 lakh houses including two lakh houses in urban areas. The government’s main aim to provide own houses to all the eligible families in the state before the assembly elections in 2019.
The government will provide subsidised two-bed room flats housing scheme in the state. The Andhra Pradesh government will invest Rs. 16,000 crore for the proposed new housing scheme.
Under the new housing scheme, the beneficiaries will get a two-bed room flat at the cost of Rs. 3.5 lakh. However the government will spend Rs 5.5 lakh per flat but it will collect only Rs 3.5 lakh from each of the allottees.
The new scheme apartments will be developed on the government land in all towns and major villages. A formal announcement will be made by the Chandrababu Naidu on the scheme very soon.
The government will invite applications from all segments of the society and the flats allotment will be based on annual income and social status.
According to the government scheme plan, the eligible beneficiaries will have to pay only a nominal amount to occupy the flats and the remaining amount will be recovered within a period of 15 to 20 years. The government will also provide loan facility with the help public sector banks. Officials of housing and finance departments are finalising the eligibility criteria to select the beneficiaries.
For the new housing scheme, the government has identified more than 100 places in the state on government land
Under the scheme, these complexes will be designed in such a way that they have all modern facilities including sports area, health centre, supermarket and parks. The Housing secretary Lav Agarwal said that We are planning to avail of modern technology to expedite the construction.
According to the sources, NDA government to allotted 1.93 lakh houses under the central housing scheme but it was too low while the state government has decided to add 2.5 lakh houses in the rural areas.
Besides this Andhra Pradesh Housing Corporation will also remodel the houses pre-constructed houses which were not occupied due to lack of basic amenities. About 1.5 lakh houses have been allotted to the beneficiaries.
