AP State Govt. Sanctioned 4,048 More Houses for East Godavari District
According to the latest news, State Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned 4,048 more houses for the East Godavari District. Initially, 1,250 houses were sanctioned by the government for all the Assembly constituencies except for Kakinada Rural and Rajamahendravaram Rural segments in the district for the financial year 2016-17 for the benefit of poor people. And 4,048 housing units were newly sanctioned by following representations from legislators and other people’s representatives of the two Assembly constituencies.
Before this, about 20,150 housing units were additionally sanctioned for the district. Apart from the two Assembly constituencies, the newly merged mandals with the district as part of the rehabilitation of the homeless people of Polavaram irrigation project will get benefited from the allotment of more houses for East Godavari. Around 4,608 housing units were sanctioned for Kakinada under the ‘Houses for All’ scheme of the Smart City Project.
In order to realize the set targets for the current financial year, the district administration has decided to give an impetus to the implementation of housing schemes.
The construction of houses for the eligible poor in the limits of Kakinada Municipal Corporation will also get big encouragement.
KMC Commissioner Aleem Basha said that as they got 4,608 houses under the Houses for All scheme, a field level survey is being conducted to identify the beneficiaries. Local representatives and Janmabhoomi committees will also be involved in its implementation. The housing scheme will be taken up in the municipal corporation soon.
