Bengaluru BPL Housing Scheme 2017 – The Bengaluru Government is going to launch a new affordable housing scheme named “Bengaluru BPL Housing Scheme 2017″ for the people of the state belonging to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category of the society. The state government is going to launch this housing scheme on November 15 when the online application process will begin.

This new housing scheme of the state government is going to be implemented by Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation. All the BPL families living in Bengaluru for more than five years can avail the benefits of this housing scheme.
Details of Housing Units Under Bengaluru BPL Housing Scheme 2017
- Under this housing scheme, a total number of One lakh housing units will be constructed across the city and it will require about 1,100 acres of land. These housing units will have ground plus three floors.
- The price of these housing units has been set at Rs. 5.5 lakh.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr.Siddaramaiah informed that around 430 acres of land have been identified. Besides this, the government land recovered from encroachers will be utilized. The construction work of these housing units will be completed within 18 to 24 months and for this purpose, the tender inviting builders to construct one lakh homes will be called soon.
Under Bengaluru BPL Housing Scheme 2017, the 80% of the beneficiaries will be selected from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits and the rest will be identified from the Bangalore Metropolitan Region Development Authority region.

Under this scheme, all the selected and identified SC and ST families will be provided a subsidy of up to Rs. 3.8 whereas the others will get a subsidy of up to Rs. 2.7 lakh. Apart from this, the rest of the total cost of the housing units will be borne by the beneficiaries and government has made arrangements for bank loans.
