Centre Approved 20 Lakh Houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is the most ambitious housing scheme project of Central government which was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2015. The government has promised to provide affordable houses to the urban and rural poor across the country by 2022.

In order to achieve the target of providing housing for all by 2022. The central government has approved the construction of over 20 lakh affordable houses for urban poor in 4,720 cities and towns under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

This information was released by the Union Urban Development Minister Mr. Vehkaiah Naidu while participating in a foundation laying ceremony for 1,09,000 houses under the Yojna in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijayawada town.

The Central government is trying to fulfill the demand of housing in urban and rural areas for poor people. Under PMAY government is also providing the subsidy for constructing houses.
