After the launch of DDA’s new housing scheme 2017, DDA will construct 25 lakh affordable houses for people of Delhi on the land of 25 villages under Delhi Development Authority Land Policy. As per the latest news, Delhi’s Lt Governor Anil Baijal has decided to declare about 95 villages as the development area to implement the Land Policy in Delhi.
Under this policy, DDA will provide affordable homes at the affordable prices to the people living villages by constructing the multistory building on land of villages.

He also informed that after the development of these 95 villages, about 2.5 lakh flats will be given to the people at affordable prices. this policy has been approved under the Section 12 of Delhi Development Act, 1957 by LG Anil Baijal.
There is a total of five zones in these 95 villages, 20 in Zone -1, 30 in Zone L, 21 in Zone N, 23 in Zone P2 and one village in Zone J. infrastructure facilities in this area such as electric, water, sewer, bus stands on this private sector land. In last six months, LG has changed the status of 89 villages from rural to urban. Now all these villages are included inside the MCD.
According to sources, it may take six months or one year to implement this land policy. Besides, DDA is also preparing a separate department for this land policy. All officers will be appointed in this department for the identification of the villages’ land separately. DDA will also maintain the records of the landowners of these villages.
It is expected that these 25 lakh houses will be provided by 2022 and the people will be able to apply for this scheme through the both online and offline mode. There will be two types of departments in this policy, under which separate land for 50 acres and the separate system for more than 50 acres of land.
