Delhi Development Authority Plans to Build 81000 More Houses in Delhi

After the successful completion of DDA Housing Scheme 2017, DDA is planning to construct 81,000 more flats in Delhi by 2021. This time Delhi Development Authority will increase the size of LIG flats up to 42-60 square meters because about 11000 flats were returned by the allottees due to the small size of LIG flats and lacking basic civic amenities.

According to the plan, about 1 lakh houses will be developed over five years in the first phase. This scheme was announced by the Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu on 30 June 2017 at the time of launch DDA Housing Scheme 2017. These houses will be offered under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

As per the information, Delhi Development Authority has already started the construction work of 68,000 flats in different areas. Besides, DDA is preparing a layout plan of 13,000 more flats for LIG, MIG and HIG category of the society.

December – 2017

The authority is expected to complete the construction work of 20,980 flats by the end of December 2017. Of these, about 3,622 will be available for EWS or Janta, 16,298 flats for LIG, 579 flats for MIG and 488 flats for HIG category.

December – 2018

In this year, the planning is to construct 13,300 flats. Of these, 10,447 will be Janta/EWS flats, 1,528 MIG and 1,345 HIG flats. Most of the flats will be located in Rohini Sectors 34 and 35, Narela, and Sector B of Vasant Kunj.

December – 2019

In this year, housing department will construct 28,930 flats. About 12,083 will be LIG flats, 4,375 MIG, and 1,954 HIG flats. These will be located at Dwarka, Mongolpuri, and Kathputli Colony.

December – 2020

In this year, around 4,663 flats are planned for construction. Of these 1,248 flat of Janta, 2,455 flats of MIG, and 960 flats of HIG. These will be at Narela and Bakarwala.

December – 2021

In the final year of 2021, about 13,265 flats would be constructed. Of these, 4,189 will be offered for EWS/Janta category, while 2,635 flat for LIG, 3,044 flat for MIG and remaining 3,397 flats for HIG category. These flats will be located at Rohini, Kondli, Vasant Kunj, Preet Vihar, and Mandawali.
