Dream of Having an Own Home in City will Now be Completed

The Dream of Having an Own Home in City will now be completed. On Friday, the Municipal Corporation’s DPR has been passed by the State Level Assessment Committee in Bhopal under the ‘Housing for All’ (HFA) Scheme. Now it will be sent to the Central Government.

This is news of relief for homeless people. Houses will be made including the fraction of the central government, the state government and the stakeholders. The Municipal Corporation has already done the survey for this and more than 1100 people have applied for this scheme. In the meeting held in Bhopal, Municipal Commissioner JJ Joshi and Executive Engineer Ishwar Singh Chandeli presented the presentation to the committee including Urban Administration Commissioner Vivek Agarwal, Chief Engineer JK Dubey.

Survey was Conducted by the Corporation

For the Affordable Housing scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the beneficial schemes, the corporation had conducted the survey in January-February. A total of 8 thousand people have identified, who do not own a house. In both the schemes, the corporation has selected 2197 people in the first phase. Its advantage is being given only if there is no residence of self or family member anywhere in the country.

If they have plot, land or lease and there is economic difficulties in making the house then government assistance will be provided.


For building a house of 30 sqm, the Corporation has considered the total cost of Rs 3.84 lakhs. Government will provide the assistance of Rs 2.50 lakh. 1.34 lakhs will be bear by the beneficiaries. It will be financed by the banks. The beneficiary have to repay the amount in installments.
