Details of Lohia Awas Yojana
After this decision of the state government of discontinuing of the Lojia Awas Yojana, the fate of as many as 315 households in Bijnor hanged in balance as they were practically left with no houses. That is because they had razed their ‘kuchcha’ houses to construct ‘pukka’ homes, for which fund was not fully issued by the authorities. A majority of these people were living in temporary housing units.
Now, the new NDA State Government has sanctioned a total amount of Rs 4.62 crore for the completion of these housing units. The authorities have been directed to complete the homes before winter arrives.

The previous government sanctioned the first installment of Rs 1.35 lakh around 11 months ago. The second installment was to be sanctioned after the walls of these housing units were completed in January this year. But, after that, the assembly elections process had initiated.
