Hidco launches housing lottery scheme in New Town of Kolkata

The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (Hidco) of Kolkata has launched another housing scheme for individuals to grab a piece of land in New Town. On Monday, the State Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim has inaugurated the scheme at the Kolkata Book Fair.


On this occasion, a booklet was also launched on the rules and regulations for applicants.

Officials informed that the application process will be completely paperless where the applicants have to apply online. A total of 75 plots, ranging from two to four cottah would be allotted through a lottery and another 25 plots primarily for setting up cooperative flats which are larger in size (Five to six cottahs) would be allotted through e-auction.

It is after a gap of over eight years since the previous Left-run government’s time that the state government will again allot plots for individual residential housings.
