According to the latest news, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has decided to write letters to the allottees of Economic Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) category to construct their houses. This decision was taken after failing miserably in achieving targets of constructing affordable houses under ambitious Mukhya Mantri Jan Awas Yojana.
According to the records, in last 15 years, the authority had developed plots for EWS and LIG categories in nearly 50 of its housing schemes. But this time, JDA has decided to help them to seek the loan from banks with the subsidy benefit on interest amount of loan upto Rs 1.5 lakh.
As per the official sources, JDA official said we will soon invite online and offline applications. The authority will also be organised camps for this. The target can be achieved in this manner.
However, under Mukhya Mantri Jan Awas Yojana, the Central government is providing the subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh to the both categories for constructing their houses upto the size of 75 sq metre. The authority will inform the allottees via letter about the Centre’s subsidy scheme.
In order to achieve the target for providing affordable housing, JDA recently planned to develop a new scheme for LIG and EWS.
To meet the target, the JDA recently planned to develop a new scheme for LIG and EWS. But only 35 applicants were qualified to purchase the plot in this category.
In this regard, an official said under the scheme we have received 700 applications. But, most of the applicants were from other cities of the state. And some applicants already had plots in RHB and JDA schemes.
