The Government of Odisha has officially announced that the Government will be constructing 5 lakh pucca houses under the Rural Housing Scheme. The Government has set to complete the project in 2015 itself and a total expenditure of Rs 3,200 crore has been estimated for the project.
It has also been reported that the Government has already been constructed a total of 3,48,816 houses were constructed in 2014-15. It has been asked to all the concerned department to distribute work orders by the last week of April. Required steps have been taken to complete the pending house projects during this year.
It was decided that all Palli Sabhas would be video-graphed in order to maintain transparency in the selection of beneficiaries. Among others, Panchayati Raj Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh and Special Project Director Bhanudas Jaweele were present.
