Finally, the central government has given the approval for the construction of 1.5 lakh houses in urban areas. This is good news for the urban poor who are living on rent. Now they will get their dream home. The urban poor will get the benefit of affordable houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. However, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved the construction of another 1.5 lakh affordable houses with an investment of Rs.7,227cr with central assistance of Rs.2,209 cr.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – PMAY (Urban)
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is the most ambitious scheme of central government. The central government has promised to provide affordable houses to the urban poor. In order to achieve the target the of providing affordable houses in the urban areas of poor people. Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved the construction of another 1.5 lakh affordable houses in selected states.
As per the approval of houses, the Andhra Pradesh has topped in the list of sanctioned houses under PMAY (Urban). Total 1.5 lakh affordable houses approved for construction. Below is the list of seven state-approved houses.
