Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Dehradun, Uttrakhand, the government will construct one lakh houses for the poor. For this, the government is interacting with several organizations to provide technical support. The highest concern of the state government is to provide houses to low income, laborers and handicapped people. A workshop was organized on PM Awas Yojana.

This workshop has also been educated by Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik. The Minister said that research is being done by experts to find useful techniques for providing affordable housing at low cost to the people of the state.

The main concern of the state government is to provide an affordable housing to the rickshaw, handicraft, workers’ category. Here, under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana, there is a plan to provide accommodation to all by 2021. For this, one lakh houses will be built in the state. The Urban Development Minister is expecting an institution like CBRI to appeal to the state to provide support for research in housing and bio toilet.

Madan Kaushik said that Kumbh, Kawad Mela and Char Dham Yatra are organized in Uttarakhand. It is also a challenge to give tourists access to biotalet. The government is engaged in trying to solve this challenge through technology. He said that instructions have been issued to issue the list of rates for the food items in stores in the Chardham yatra. In the workshop, CBRI Director N Gopal Krishnan, Rajesh Goyal, SK Gupta, Builders were present.
