Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Punjab – Govt. Approved Construction of 42,613 Houses
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Punjab
The Central Government of India has approved the construction of 42,613 affordable housing units from Punjab in the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Punjab (PMAY). Central Government has sanctioned Rs 69.60 Crore for the construction of affordable housing units under Houses for All (HFA) by 2022 in Punjab. This amount will be utilized under Rajiv Awas Yojana on the basis of Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) in Punjab.
The Punjab Government has invited the applications for Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme to construct concrete (pucca) housing units under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. On the basis of applications, Punjab government sent 329 approval letter and the central government will give green signal to all the approvals. According to the officials, the construction work of these houses will cost Rs.1193.23 crore. Out of this amount, the central government will provide Rs.598.80 crore and rest of the amount would be bear by the state government

Along with Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme, Punjab Government has also prepared a structure for other schemes. Punjab government will build houses for slums in the partnership. For this, the state government of Punjab has prepared complete layout and structure but still, builders are not interested in this. But Punjab government is giving a discount to encourage builders.
