Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has decided to provide possession of 1,600 residential plots of 2009 housing scheme which was launched for the allotment of 21,000 residential plots. The possession of these plots will be provided by the end of March.

According to the sources, the authority officials said that about 55 plot buyers were finalized last week to provide possession letters and 100 more will be delivered this week.

However, the scheme was launched in 2009 and the authority had offered 21,000 plots at the cost of Rs. 4,750 per sqm. These plots were available in the size of 300 sqm to 4,000 sqm and the authority has allotted the plots through lottery draw in 2009-10. But the authority has failed to provide possession of these plots till eight years.

According to the information, an authority official said that the plots will be handed over to the buyers because the plots on land that is not under Litigation. However, these plots are located in located in Sector 20 in blocks A, B, I, J, T and U.

The additional chief executive office of YEIDA Amarnath Upadhaya Upadhyay said that the delivery process of possession was delayed because some farmers had challenged the land acquisition in the Allahabad high court and refused to part with their agricultural land, and demanded extra compensation.

He said that most of the problems have been resolved and possessions of plots are being given on land that is in the authority’s custody.

In this regard, a meeting was also conducted by the Yamuna Expressway residential plot owners’ welfare association with the ACEO last week, demanding the handover of plots.

Safal Suri, president of the association said that YEIDA officials confirmed that 55 possession letters are ready to be dispatched. It is a huge victory for us as we have been waiting for almost eight years for this.
