Yogi Government Stopped Samajwadi Awas Yojana to Launch Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Chief Minister Adityanath Yogi has stopped the Samajwadi Awas Yojana of the Akhilesh Yadav government. Yogi stopped the scheme in the state, now under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the scheme of getting Affordable House for the people is placed before the public.
After the formation of the Modi government in the center, PM Awas Yojana was launched to provide Affordable House (cheap house) across the country. Instead of giving preference to this scheme in Uttar Pradesh, the then Akhilesh Yadav government had launched Samajwadi Awas Yojna in the state.
Under the Samajwadi Awas Yojana, a promise of providing a 2 bedroom affordable house to the middle class and lower middle class in the state was given. Under the scheme, the goal of the Samajwadi Party government was to achieve this cheap home by 3 lakh people by 2016.
The Akhilesh government had launched Samajwadi Awas Yojana in Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Meerut. Under the scheme, the process of application was completed on June 2, 2016. According to the plan-
- Gulmohar Enclave Flats (Ghaziabad): 1951 Unit (1 BHK and 2BHK)
Amrapali Enclave Scheme (Lucknow): 920 units (1 BHK and 2BHK)
Bhagirathi Enclave Scheme (Meerut): 1584 units (1 BHK and 2BHK)
In addition to these schemes released in these cities, Akhilesh government had completed the process of plot allocation and advance booking in many other cities of the state. Now the Yogi Government has to decide the future of these schemes. Generally, such schemes are renamed as new government schemes. Therefore, according to the Yogi Government’s decision, these schemes can now be extended under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Yogi will give 2BHK and 3BHK Affordable Houses
The Chief Minister Yogi will now extend the Affordable Housing Scheme to the middle class and lower middle classes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state.
According to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, families having an annual income of Rs. 6 lakhs will be given 90 crores of rupees and families having an annual income of Rs. 12-18 lakhs will be given affordable houses of 110 square meter carpet area.
On applying under the PM Awas Yojana, the Central Government will provide subsidy on home loans to the producers for giving affordable housing to this income group in urban areas.
Metro to reach Gorakhpur
Along with the Affordable House in the State, the Chief Minister Yogi has decided to include Gorakhpur in the ongoing Metro Rail project of the Akhilesh government in the state.
